Four locals injured and a dozen suffocated by tear gas in Bil'in's weekly demonstration

The slogan of this week's demonstration was 'End the Division and Occupation'

Four  local residents were injured in various parts of their body and a dozen of people fainted due to inhalation of concentrated and poisonous tear gas.  Many also suffered from colored and foul chemical liquid that was sprayed over the protesters by the Israeli Defense Force during the peaceful demonstration demanding an end of the division and occupation organized by the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bil'in.

The demonstration started after the Friday prayer where the crowd processed from the village's mosque towards the apartheid wall.

Many international and Israeli activists participated alongside local residents of Bil'in and neighboring villages. Joining them were also the hunger strikers of the 15/March movement. The protesters were holding Palestinian flags, banners of the leader, Marwan Al Bargoti, as well as posters of the martyrs Bassem and Jawaher Abu Rahmah while chanting "End the division and occupation".

When the protestors arrived to the east gate of the wall the soldiers attacked the protesters with tear gas canisters, rubber coated bullets, khartoush bullets ,sound bombs and chemical spray.

As a result, four  locals were wounded; ahmaed abo rahma,16 years old , khartoush bullet at his right leg ; Ibrahim Burnat, , 28 years old, tear gas canister was shot at his leg; samer ataya , 30 years old, a tear gas canister was shot at his leg; Mohamad Burnat, 22 years old, a tear gas was also shot at his face ; The victims were treated on the location of the protest in Bil'in.

Bil’in – Ramallah: There were dozens of cases of severe asphyxiation from tear gas inhalation as a result of confrontations which occurred in the village of Bil’in, along with foreign peace and solidarity activists, after Israeli Occupation Forces suppressed the weekly march protesting the Wall and settlements in the village of Bil’in.
Residents of Bil’in, alongside dozens of Israeli peace activists and foreign solidarity activists, participated in the weekly march that was called for by the Popular Committee to Resist the Wall and Settlements in Bil’in.
During the march participants raised Palestinian flags and pictures of the martyrs Jawaher and Bassem Abu Rahamah, as well as yellow banners with the pictures of the imprisoned leader Marwan Barghouthi and Abdallah Abu Rahmah, the coordinator of the Popular Committee to Resist the Wall and Settlements in Bil’in, and posters calling for the end of the division and the occupation.
Demonstrators made their way through the streets of the village chanting national slogans calling for unity and the setting aside of differences, emphasizing the necessity of holding fast to core Palestinian values, and for resistance to the Occupation, freedom for all prisoners, and freedom for Palestine. They chanted, “the people want to end the division, the people want to end the occupation!”
The march approached the Wall, where a military force from the Israeli army had made a human chain of soldiers close to the Wall gate on the west side in order to stop demonstrators from entering their lands beyond the Wall. A large number of soldiers were spread along the path of the Wall with a large vehicle for spraying demonstrations with green wastewater mixed with chemicals. With the demonstrators attempt to pass toward the soldiers, the army began to shoot sound bombs, rubber coated metal bullets, and tear gas bombs, and to spray demonstrators with wastewater toward them from all directions, leading to dozens of cases of severe asphyxiation.
A delegation from the French Foreign Ministry visited Bil’in, including Ms. Dominique Waj and Mr. Thierry Vallat. They met with the Popular Committee to Resist the Wall and Settlements in the office of the International Solidarity Movement in the village and listened to a detailed explanation from the Popular Committee about the experience of Bil’in in popular, peaceful resistance over the past six years, the accomplishments which the Popular Committee have achieved, the role of effective international solidarity in the popular resistance in Bil’in, the factors which contributed to the continuation of the popular resistance for a long period in the village, and the price which the village has paid. Afterwards, they took a tour of the Apartheid Wall in Bil’in.

Six years have passed since residents of Bil'in, together with their Israeli and international supporters, started regularly demonstrating against the Wall and the confiscation of more than half their land by it. It has been more than three years since the Israeli High Court ruled that the path of the Wall must be changed as soon as possible, and the people of Bil'in have waited long enough.

Organized by the Popular Committee Against the Wall the participants were chanting slogans – calling for national unity, an end of the Occupation, the deconstruction of the separation fence and the release of political prisoners. The participants raised Palestinian and Eqyptian flags. Their message to the Eqyptians was to stand up and unite above the divisions of class and sectarian struggle and face together the danger of external intervention. Upon the arrival at the construction site of the wall the Israeli army fired dozens of tear gas and sound grenades towards the participants in an attempt to disperse them. Dozens of demonstrators were injured after inhaling the tear gas which was heavily fired upon them. Ambulance crews were forced to treat them. The participants resisted the soldiers of the occupation force when they attempted to advance towards the village of Bil'in. In a letter of solidarity with the Egyptian People's Committee we want to state the following: 1- We salute the Egyptian and Tunisian people and reiterate the nation’s right to live in freedom and pride. 2- We call for national unity and the preservation of civil peace, and to protect the home front and tolerance among all segments of society, and to deal with conspiracies and foreign projects in order to pass this historic stage successfully. 3- We hope that the rebelling Arab people make it their priority to demand from any government or leadership to come to sever their ties with the Israeli occupation and abandon the Egyptian - Israeli peace treaty. We believe it would be better to direct the masses towards the Israeli embassies and interests as an alternative to targeting the capabilities of the Egyptian people and the headquarters of its security. 4- We call on all free nations in the world, especially Europe and the U.S., to get out in massive demonstrations on 11 \ 2 \ 2011 to confirm the right of peoples to live in freedom and dignity -- a day of anger against the Israeli occupation of Arab land, and as a beginning of the Global Intifada. Bil'in village has continued the struggle of resistance against the occupation.

The Popular Committee Against the Wall in Bil'in organized today's demonstration. The march began after Friday prayers from the center of the village, towards the site of the wall.  

Representatives from Bil'in as well as dozens of Palestinians from around the West Bank participated in today's march. In addition,  dozens of international activists and  Israelis participated in the demonstration, chanting slogans calling for national unity, ending the occupation, and the for the release of political prisoners and recently imprisoned Jonathan Pollak(28 year's) .

Pollak, an Israeli activist, just began his three month imprisonment after being singled out by the Israeli police and arrested at a Critical Mass in Tel Aviv and convicted of participation in an illegal assembly. This is a clear strategy by Israel to silence those speaking out against the occupation.

The demonstrators organized themselves in front of the wall in a large peace sign, with each person holding a picture of Pollak's face. This was in order to send a message to the world that the people of Bil'in are standing in peace against the occupation and the effect it has on those who take action against the it. The soldiers responded with spraying the demonstrators standing in the peace sign with waste water contaminated with chemicals, followed by tear gas, sound bombs, and rubber bullets. Dozens of people suffered from tear gas inhalation and from being sprayed with the waste water.

Demonstrators  and others attempted to stop the occupation forces when they attempted to advance towards the village, but the people were forced to retreat. After another thirty minutes the demonstration ended.

They asked them so many question about the demonstrations, like who joined in the demonstration.
after 4 hours they were released.
the children name are jamal al khatib and amjad abu rahma.

 the Israel occupation have to stoop these acts against the children of Palestine, and   leaves them, and let them to have daily lives and  happily living their such as children in the world.

Friday 07/01/2011 Bil'in village has continued the struggle of resistance against the occupation. At today's demonstration, three persons were wounded, in addition to dozens of more cases of people choking on tear gas.

The Popular Committee Against the Wall in Bil'in organized today's demonstration. The march began after Friday prayers from the center of the village, towards the site of the wall.  

Representatives from Bil'in as well as dozens of Palestinians from around the West Bank participated in today's march. In addition,  dozens of international activists and  Israelis participated in the demonstration, chanting slogans calling for national unity, ending the occupation, and destroying the wall.  Participants raised Palestinian flags and banners of the various factions, calling for liberation and national unity.When demonstrators reached the site of the wall, they were met with a shower of tear gas and sound bombs, rubber bullets, and the use of wastewater contaminated with chemicals. Odai abo rahma was injured in his leg by tear gas, and tow woman's  were unconscious by poison gas. Dozens of people suffered from teargas inhalation, which was used intensively, and many more suffered from the use of waste water by the Israeli army.

Demonstrators  and others attempted to stop the occupation forces when they attempted to advance towards the village.  Palestinian youth threw stones at the soldiers in an effort to stop them, but were forced to retreat, where they continued confrontations with Israeli soldiers for the next several hours.
