A journalist was injured and dozens of cases of asphyxiation with poison gas in the village of Bil'in.west of Ramallah.

A journalist was injured and dozens of cases of asphyxiation with poison gas in the village of Bil'in.west of Ramallah.
The journalist Mohib Barghouthi (45 year) was wounded today with two rubber bullets In both legs, as well as Dozens of cases of suffocation in the weekly march which organized by the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bil'in. Dozens of Palestinians, international activists, and Israeli peace activists were participated this demonstration .
Despite the bad weather the march began after Friday prayers from the center of the village toward to the land that was returned a few months ago, Participants raised Palestinian flags and the yellow banners which painted with the image of the captive leader Marwan Barghouti, and they chanted national slogans calling for the departure of the occupation , the destruction of the apartheid wall and calling for freedom of Palestinian political prisoners .
Upon the arrival of participants to Abu Limon area, some of the participants were able to cut and remove some of the barbed wire, occupation forces stationed behind the concrete wall fired tear gas and rubber bullets, as well as sound bombs. Waste water, mixed with chemicals, was also sprayed in large quantities towards the activists, which led to the injury of the journalist Barghouti who was transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex for treatment, and to the suffocation of dozens of participants, all of them were treated with poison gas on site by Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance teams.

A citizen was injured as well as dozens others that were tear gassed by Israeli Soldiers in the village of Bil'in, west of Ramallah

in the left thigh as well as dozens of protesters were suffering with tear gas
choking in the weekly march which organized by the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bil'in in solidarity with the prisoners, specially the activist from Bil'in, Ashraf Abu Rahma. Dozens of Palestinian , international and Israeli peace activists participated the demonstration.
The march began after Friday prayers from the center of the village headed to the land near the wall, Participants raised Palestinian flags ,the yellow banners which painted with the image of the prisoner leader Marwan Barghouti and pictures of the prisoner, Ashraf Abu Rahma, who was sentenced by Israeli military court last week with six months and a half and 3000 NIS in addition to six months suspended for three years.
The participants chanted the national slogans which calling for the departure of the occupation ,destruction of the apartheid wall and also calling for freedom of the prisoners.
Upon the arrival of participants to Abu Limon area , one of the participant was able to break through the barbed wire and draw the flag of Palestine on the concrete wall and he wrote patriotic slogans which are calling for the departure of the occupation and its settlers from the land of Palestine. The occupation soldiers who stationed behind the concrete wall fired tear gas , sound bombs , rubber bullets, and they sprayed waste water mixed with chemicals towards the participants, which resulted the injury of a citizen, in addition of dozens of participants .

Solidarity with the prisoner Ashraf Abu Rahma .

Today on the 15th of January 2012, the Israeli Occupation Court in Ofer prison sentenced the activist Ashraf Abu Rahma, who is already been hold in prison for three month, to 6 months and a half to prison as well as to pay a fine of 3000 thousands NIS. Furthermore, for the next three years, Ashraf is getting suspended to join the nonviolent demonstrations in Bilin. In case of non-compliance, he will be sentenced to an other 6 month in prison.

March in Solidarity with Jerusalem .


Dozens of cases  of suffocation were reported by demonstrators at the weekly march in solidarity with Jerusalem. The march was organized by the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bil'in.   Dozens of Palestinians, international activists,  and Israeli peace activists were present in protest against the arbitrary measures pursued by the occupation, in which to people of Jerusalem and its environs are being displaced.  Despite heavy rains  the march began after Friday prayers from the center of the village toward to land that was recently returned. Participants raised Palestinian flags and chanted national slogans calling for the departure of the occupation and the destruction of the apartheid wall. Upon arrival to the protected area, Abu Limon, occupation forces stationed behind the concrete wall fired tear gas and rubber bullets, as well as sound bombs. Waste water, mixed with chemicals, was also sprayed in large quantities towards the activists, which led to the suffocation. Dozens of participants were treated with poison gas on site by Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance  teams. Despite the violent confrontation, protesters succeeded in penetrating the barb wire fence at the foot of the wall.

The journalists of the Palestinian village of Bil'in are filming and photographing the nonviolent resistance against the wall and the construction of new settlement by the Israeli government. Short documentary about the photojournalist Hamde Abu Rahma. The video recordings were made by Haitham Al Katib.

Friday Loyalty to Martyrs.

Today four people were injured as well as dozens others that were tear gassed by Israeli Soldiers in the village of Bil'in, west of Ramallah.

Samir Burnat (36 years old) was shot with two rubber-coated metal bullets in the right leg. Kefah Mansour (30 years old) was also hit by three rubber-coated metal bullets in the right leg. Ibrahim Burnat (30 years of age)  was hit by two rounds of said bullets in the right leg. Finally,  Mohammed Hamad (19 years) was rushed to the hospital after being hit with a stone in the spine. Dozens of cases of asphyxiation due to  tear gas were reported.

The weekly march organized by the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bil'in comes on the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Jawaher Abu Rahma. Participants included the Governor of Ramallah and Al Bireh Laila Ghannam, and many representatives of national movements, including members of the Executive Committee of the PLO. Members of the political offices of Palestinian factions were also present as were dozens of Palestinian, Israeli, and  international peace activists.

The march began after the Friday prayers from the center of the village in direction of the recently liberated land .

Participants flew Palestinian flags, banners of the Palestinian factions, and yellow banners with the image of the captive leader Marwan Barghouti. Protesters chanted national slogans calling for the departure of the occupation and destruction of the apartheid wall. Protesters equally demanded the liberation of political prisoners, and urged Palestinians to continue the popular struggle.Upon arrival to the Abu Lemon area several protesters broke through the barbed wire, as settlers looked on from behind the wall. Soldiers then opened fire on the participants, using  rubber bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas. At one point, occupying forces attempted to arrest the protesters, chasing them with military vehicles. The progress of the vehicles was halted by protesters.

In total, four people were hit by rubber-coated metal bullets and dozens of cases of suffocation were reported on the part of peace activists.

 Mohammed Hamad and Ibrahim Burnat were transferred to a local hospital. Injuries were also treated in the field by ambulance crews.

Meanwhile, the Women's Committee organized a memorial service for the commemoration of martyr Jawaher Abu Rahma. The service followed  the march in the village center. Attendees included representatives of the national forces, womens committees, and the Palestinians and foreign peace activists. All sides expressed their regret for the loss of Jawaher.
